Do my extensions work?

Most do. code-server uses the Open VSX registry, so a few Microsoft-licensed extensions are unavailable.

Is it fast enough to actually work in?

From India, on a Mumbai server, yes. Latency is what makes browser editors feel bad, and there is very little here.

Is it secure?

It is password-protected over HTTPS. Use a strong password and consider restricting access if you keep secrets in it.
